A new entity named Maguro Enterprises bought 520 acres in Mount Holly Industrial Park just off Hwy.52 between Goose Creek and Moncks Corner. The deal appeared to be notarized in Santa Clara County CA. Google Inc. has a headquarters in that Silicon Valley location. it is rumored that the deal could bring a $1 billion dollor investment and 400 to 800 high tech jobs over time with average earnings of $90,000 a year. The American Association of Retired People engaged a team of researchers to come determine the cheapest states to live in as a retiree, based on income, property, and sales taxes. They then factored in weather, recreational opportunities, and livability (access to health care and transportation), and came up with five places to retire. The results? Las Cruces, New Mexico; Charleston, South Carolina; Behoboth Beach, Delaware; Memphis, Tennessee; and St. George, Utah. (Source: AARP Magazine)
